The long awaited sequel to the spectacular Hunger Games movie, Catching Fire,  is now out in theatres as of November 22! The book series by Suzanne Collins has given a new meaning of science fiction to the big screen. The first movie, The Hunger Games, was a huge hit among both the series’ readers and the general public. The sequel Catching Fire has been highly anticipated by fans for the past two years.  It was continually advertised and updates on its progress were consistently on the top of entertainment news.

Now that the waiting is over, fans can now continue the adventure of Katniss Everdeen fighting the power of the Capitol. The Catching Fire movie’s accuracy to its print form was incredible, without losing the entertainment inherent to its cinematography elements. The movie was even kept true to the book’s cliffhanger ending, creating the same sense of suspense for the next movie (Mockingjay) as fans had for this one. The movie isn’t word for word and includes unexpected scenes like a strip tease, which might strain the PG-13 rating in the opinion of some parents.

Jennifer Lawrence, reprising her role as tribute, continues to impress the public with her Oscar winning talent and brings back  the fans’ dispute of whether her character Katniss should be with Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) or Gale (Liam Hemsworth).

At press time, Catching Fire is currently the number one at the box office with $74.5M and the number one grossing film in the world. You can definitely say the odds are in Lionsgate’s favor, of making another boatload of money.
