R.I.P to the Old Days of Quality ‘Toons

When did randomness and potty humor replace decent characters and stories?

Cartoons aren’t quite what they used to be; I miss Johnny Bravo, Courage the Cowardly Dog, Power Puff Girls, Ed Edd and Eddy, Billy and Mandy, the old Teen Titans. Changing to more modern ‘toons like Adventure Time, Tuff Puppy, the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and the new Teen Titans etc., it seem there is no story line anymore, it’s pointless characters walking around doing random things that sometimes can be inappropriate, such as in Adventure Time when the dog (Jake) flapped his butt  cheeks to put out a fire.

Point is children are watching such things, and they are mimicking actions they see. Which leads to parents getting mad, but what can they really do when they allow their children to watch such things? Back when I was a child television shows used to have meaning whatever the topic may be. Whether it may be Courage the Cowardly Dog chasing his owner saving her from whatever disaster may be next, to three best friends walking around (Ed, Edd n Eddy) having fun shows used to be something my parents didn’t have to worry about me watching.

Call me sentimental.
