Marvel’s “Captain Marvel” Trailer Keeps Anticipation Alive for 2019

Marvel’s “Captain Marvel” is coming soon to theaters, possibly in March 2019.

With all the events going in Marvel’s Expanded Cinematic Universe, breaking this down is gonna require some background geek knowledge, which I can provide!

The movie is about Captain Marvel a.k.a. Carol Danvers (played by Brie Larson). In the comics, she got her powers of superhuman strength, endurance, stamina and durability, energy projection and absorption, and flight after her DNA was fused with Mar-Vell’s during an explosion.

We start the trailer of with what seems to be a spaceship is exploding and then Captain Marvel falling through a “Blockbuster Video” (“Blockbuster Video” rebranded in 1996 to just “Blockbuster” so the movie will probably take place in the 90s).

A voice over of Nick Fury, (Samuel L. Jackson) telling Carol that he knows she is a renegade soldier and that she’s from space. After the Marvel Studios logo, it cuts to an underground facility, probably a S.H.I.E.L.D. one, with Nick Fury and an autopsy of a Skrull (a shapeshifting alien race).

Next it cuts to a spaceship appearing in front of earth with an early model Shield aircraft approaching it.

Then it cuts to Captain Marvel jumping onto a train (labeled Los Angeles) shooting a energy beam out of her hands, next it shows Captain Marvel in a phonebooth and is met with Nick Fury, who still has both his eyes!

Next there driving together and then a spaceship flies to another planet, it shows an advanced alien society with Captain Marvel looking out a window, which is followed by a voiceover of Captain Marvel saying she has memories from earth, like being a pilot with Maria Rambeau (Lashana Lynch) and then going through bootcamp and playing baseball.

Then it cuts to her being held trapped upside down with beams being fired into her head, most likely brainwashing her.

Then Captain Marvel walks out of an alien building with Minn-Erva (Gemma Chan) and Bron-Char (Rune Temte) who in the comics are enemies of captain marvel. Then it shows Mar-Vell aka Walter Lawson (Jude Law).

Then more flashbacks of being a pilot, then back on the train Captain Marvel punches an old lady (presumably a Kree spy),

Then it cuts to Ronan the Accuser (Lee Pace) , before he is turned all blue and stuff in Guardians of the Galaxy, looking over a planet.

Then Nick Fury puts on the pager he activates at the end of Avengers:Infinity War.

Next is cuts to Captain Marvel caught in an explosion in her pilot suit, presumably when she gets her powers.

Finally we see Captain Marvel Glowing with energy in her classic suit and then it shows the title card.
