Many of you have noticed that many of your friends are turning into giraffes on Facebook. This is due to a tricky riddle spreading exponentially across Facebook. If you get the riddle right then you get the satisfaction of not changing your Facebook photo, but if you get it wrong then you must change your Facebook picture to a giraffe.

The riddle is: “It’s 3 a.m., the doorbell rings and you wake up. Unexpected visitors! It’s your parents and they are here for breakfast. You have strawberry jam, honey, wine, bread and cheese. What is the first thing you open?”

Of course most people immediately have an answer, that is what gets you. Some people first think its the food items, while others take another second to think about it. Then usually the second thought is the door (which was what got me), but you have to take an even longer look at it. The first thing you have to open is your eyes.

This riddle is tricky because you think you are clever, by not falling for the food and thinking of something else. It also sparked a huge controversy over whether you would open the door or your eyes.

People who believe the door is the right answer, say that your eyes would already be open. I mean, it does say that you wake up, and you had to notice that your parents are at the door. Others believe that you have to open your eyes before you can do anything else, so it would have to be your eyes.

Just in case the amount of people changing their profile pics to giraffes wasn’t blowing up your news feed enough, I’m sure you have seen the amount of comics looking pictures that are flooding facebook.

These pictures are called bitstrips. Bitstrips allow you to create a comic version of yourself and put that comic version of yourself in a comic situation that you also create. The whole thing is kind of confusing, but apparently quite fun due to the amount of people using them. These new Facebook trends are kinda neat and pretty creative, which may be the reason people like them so much.
