Kelsi Nabywaniec leads the Lady Warriors vs. General Brown

The Indian River girls varsity basketball team is having a solid year as they continue on in section III. The girls, with a 19-1 overall record, will be playing their semi-final game this Saturday at OCC against Jamesville-Dewitt. The girls, not losing any games in league play, are ranked number one in section III.

Throughout the season thus far, the warriors have scored a total of 1,098 points, about 130 more points made than last year. Kammikia Barnes is the lead scorer for the lady warriors, with a total of 252 points made this season. Sarah Mattingly is the second highest scorer on the team so far, with a total of 188 points. Talesia Jackson follows close behind Mattingly with a total of 168 points. Sarah Mattingly leads the team with the most three points made throughout the season, having 55 three pointers. Mattingly, holding that record for the team, also broke a school record this past season for having the most three-point shots in a season.

Senior Sidney Black quotes “Season is going very well. As long as we stick together and work hard in the practices and games, we could go far.” The Warriors need to keep this effort going as they make their run to states.
