Duke Wins NCAA Basketball Tournament

Yet another March Madness is in the books.

More upsets, more excitement, and another champion.

The Duke Blue Devils were able to rally in coach K’s 5th National Title. Clearly winning it all is anything new to Duke.

They beat a tough, veteran based, Wisconsin team 68-63 after being tied 31 a piece at halftime. Although Duke was ultimately able to prevail, their star center/freshman Jahlil Okafor did not put on his best performance. Not to take away from the fact that Wisconsin’s Frank Kaminsky was a big part of Okafor’s lower numbers.

Kaminsky was able to get Okafor into foul trouble early which kept him out of the game for a lot of big moments.

Kaminsky was this years National Player of the year, Consensus All-American first team, and this year’s Wooden Player of the Year, completing the sweep for colleges highest accolades.

Duke’s young line-up, most of which is freshman Duke. Tyus Jones, Jahlil Okafor, and Justice Winslow sat in a hotel room together while playing for the USA basketball team. They talked about playing for Duke together only dreaming of what they would be able to accomplish..

. Okafor was the biggest piece in recruited Winslow to Duke.

Unfortunately this hype for Duke could be short lived as it is expected for all three to commit to the NBA draft this season. Duke has one of the best recruiting track records in college basketball so even though they suffer these big losses they should be able to fill those shoes with some new guys.
