Junior running back Guillermo Rosario-Acostas lead Indian River to a 43-13 win over Jamesville Dewitt in their Homecoming game night.

The Indian River Warrior boys football team took on the Jamesville Dewitt Red Rams Saturday, September 22. Our Warriors started off strong with two touchdowns in the first quarter by Rosario-Acostas. Towards the end of the first quarter, Jamesville Dewitt responded with a touchdown of their own.

In the second quarter, Rosario-Acostas broke loose for a 71-yard touchdown run, leaving the Red Rams defense trailing in the dust.

“It’s just another game in our way. We’ve got to keep moving on to Central Square next week,” Rosario-Acostas told Warrior Ink.

Junior defensive back Alex Mathieu had a ballhawking interception late in the 4th quarter, giving the Warriors an extra possession, and more time to kill the clock. To follow up the interception, this reporter, (and Senior running back) Kwazsi Gaddis helped the Warriors drive down the field.

Rosario-Acostas finished the game with 4 touchdowns, and 178 yards. Gaddis finished with 224 yards rushing.

Overall, it was another great team win by the Indian River Warriors, thanks to dedicated coaches, players, and families.
